Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis, an actor and musician is well-known for his sharp-edged character or smart characters in action movies. He has been in over $2.5 billion worth of films. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein in West Germany, to a German mother, Marlene Kassel, and an American father, David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point, New Jersey), who were then living at an United States military base. His family moved to the United States shortly following the birth of his son. He grew up in Penns Grove (New Jersey) where his mother was bank clerk, and his father was an electrician as well as a worker in the factory. Willis was interested in acting in high school. When he worked at the New York City café, his name was "discovered". Then, he was able to be seen in several off-Broadway productions. As a bartender one night the bartender was noticed by the casting director who was impressed by his character and was looking for bartenders for a tiny film role. Willis was a part of many auditions before getting the role in the romantic comedy of the same name, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. His sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. Some see it as an exercise to test Willis' role in Die Hard (1988), in which he was the sole defender of an international gang of thieves in the top of a Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990), he reprised the role. A group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to return a corrupt South American general. They are located in Washington's Dulles International Airport. The sequel, Die hard with the vengeance (1995) was a smash success. The film starred Samuel L. Jackson as the shrewd Harlem shop owner who is required to join forces with McClane during a terrorist bombing spree that takes place on a hot New York day.
