Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix was an Los Angeles native born on the 18th November 1985. Paul Felix served as an ordinand at Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix was an athletically inclined child and found her passion to sprint at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed 2nd in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a professional career with Adidas in 2003, and after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She set an Junior World Record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world winner in the 200m in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated in her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her competitions.
