Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born March 23, 1976 was an American actor. She is most famous for her roles as the main character in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). Also, she has received awards for her performance as Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On television, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the first season of the crime drama series True Detective (2014), where she earned an award nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred as Sarah Lane in the drama series The Path (2016-18). Monaghan appeared as Eva Geller in the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah and the show was pulled after just one season. Monaghan was the child of Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Her older brothers are, Bob and John. Monaghan is an Catholic with Irish and German origin and graduated from East Buchanan High School, 1994. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to study journalism and began modeling. She also has modeled in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore as well as the United States. She quit New York for an acting career after finishing her journalism degree in 1999. Her first role was a model. Monaghan was recognized in two TV roles, including supporting characters in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. Her second television appearance was in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified , in "Consent" which first aired on the 19th of January 2001. Monaghan also made her screen debut in Perfume that year in the role of Henrietta. Her next film, also as a supporting character and in 2002 in Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
